Alison & Aaron

COUPLE CLOSE-UP: Alison & Aaron

Alison and Aaron toured Beech Hill Barn and new right away that they could envision their wedding ceremony in the Oak Grove.  Their June wedding is right around the corner, and we are looking forward to Alison and Aaron and all of their family and friends celebrating and creating a little magic on their wedding day. Thank you for sharing your story with us.

Please tell us about the proposal!
We got engaged on August 11th, 2023 and it was magical! It was our first full vacation day in Montréal and Aaron planned out every detail. He found us a delicious brunch spot, we strolled through city parks and then spent the afternoon exploring the Montreal Botanical Garden. We stopped back at our Airbnb to change…aka Aaron hid the ring in his pocket…then we rushed downtown. Aaron was nervous, but I figured it was because we were running late. We arrived at the La Grande Roue de Montréal Ferris Wheel and hopped in our private VIP gondola. To our right, the sun was setting behind the Old Port, and to our left the St. Lawrence River glistened. That's where he popped the question! As if it couldn’t get any better, Aaron made reservations at a rooftop restaurant where we popped a bottle and repeatedly exclaimed to each other, “I get to marry you!”

Why did you choose Beech Hill Barn?
We love the whole aesthetic, it's very us. It's clean, simple yet bold, and naturally beautiful. The ceremony space is stunning and the single tree in the background stole our hearts. The Barn and Carriage Barn are "barn chic" and blend character and modernism perfectly. The Beechwood Suite is gorgeous and its clean, calm energy is exactly what I want the morning of our big day. Bonus that our hair/make-up stylists will thrive with the natural light and bright set-up.
We also appreciated the sleeping arrangements when we toured the venue. We didn't want to waste time driving from here to there since everyone says your wedding day is over in a flash. The 1832 Farmhouse is exactly what we need for his five groomsmen and their significant others. The groom will stay here with his guys the night before, minimizing the chance of accidentally seeing the bride before the ceremony. The parents and bridesmaids will stay in the Modern Barnhouse, directly across from our suite to prepare for the day. The Loft for Two, aka the honeymoon suite, also sold us.

What do you picture for your wedding day and who are some of the vendors you chose to help create your vision?
I could go on and on about how I selected the perfect details for our big day (although minimal, everything was carefully selected and placed just right for us). But we really want what every other couple wants for their wedding day…positive energy, lots of love, laughter, and our family and friends having a good time! Here is a little sneak peek into our day. We will have dinner catered by Rita's Catering and bar services provided by Maine Mixologist. Florals by Fitz will be providing our flowers as we love her romantic aesthetic. Of course, our photographer Mackenzie Lamoureux Photography who took our beautiful engagement photos will be photographing our wedding as well! Stay tuned for the finer details once we host our wedding...
