We recently chatted with Wendy Caron, owner of Dragonfly Services from Boothbay Harbor, Maine. At Beech Hill Barn, we highly recommend hiring the assistance of an event planner for your wedding day. From our experience of having Wendy and the members of her team working with couples here at Beech Hill Barn, it’s obvious that they truly love what they do!
Please describe the range of services you offer.
Being a “Day of” coordinator essentially means I am the support system for couples as well as vendors, family and guests. I guide couples throughout the planning process should they need assistance with vendor selection, rental advice, ceremony details, cocktail hour, reception, décor, and whatever else their needs may be. I help to create a timeline that is often for both the day before and the wedding day. I help to set up on wedding day, guide vendors as they set up and greet guests upon arrival. I am the “GO TO” person so our couples can enjoy this special day. 
What is one thing you would say makes your business unique in the wedding industry?
I would have to say that it’s me! Staying true to who I am and setting the tone of the day by being positive, helpful and always being there for my couples and for their team of vendors.
What do you love about barn weddings?
Barn venues are very special, and in the state of Maine there are many to choose from, each being unique. I feel it’s all about the style and personality of the couple that helps them to choose the barn that is best for their wedding. Barn venues allow couples to be creative and express their personalities. I think if a couple wants the feel to be casual, relaxed and rustic and sometimes elegant a barn venue could be a great fit.

I am available to travel throughout Maine and cherish the opportunity to guide couples through creating a unique experience for their guests and memories for their wedding day. Beech Hill Barn is a really special venue, the grounds are immaculate and Priscilla and Jay, the owners, truly care about the couples’ experience and are very supportive throughout the process. Priscilla is easy to work with and has thought about every detail!
